As photographers, we have the unique job of seeing tons of stunningly beautiful wedding venues every year. This trade has taken us across the country, and every time we think “Wow, this is so beautiful!” the next weekend our socks are blown off again at a new venue! This got us thinking… why not share our knowledge of all things pretty and present you with a blog post with insider info about some of our favorite venues?!
We’ve broken down four of our favorite wedding venues in Texas to photograph in no specific order. Get that Pinterest extension working, and read along – you might just find your dream wedding venue!
1. The Waterstone, Celina TX
First up, The Waterstone. We had the pleasure of shooting this wedding venue in the fall! If you’re jonesing for a classic Texas country wedding, the Waterstone is for you. Think creekbed with old-timey barns and fairy lights, meets modern white decor and a killer team who knows exactly what they’re doing. There are four unique locations to choose from, cause c’mon who doesn’t love options? Whether the vision for your wedding day is outdoor waterfront tucked in the trees or spectacular barn with ultra-high ceilings and all of the natural light – The Waterstone’s got you covered.
2. The Stonecrest, McKinney TX
Let’s talk about McKinney, Texas. This town has TWO of our fave spots if you can believe it! The Stonecrest Venue is a perfect mix between rustic and industrial. Situated on 20 acres of rolling countryside, the Stonecrest can accommodate anywhere from 30-275 guests! Their outdoor ceremony area is breathtaking with wooden pews, complete with a magical archway for you and your partner to say “I do!” beneath. Walk into the reception hall (all decorated by your personal team) and take in the ridiculously high ceilings and wooden beams. If you’re in the area, book a venue tour. Their summer dates get scooped up fast y’all!
3. La Cour Venue, McKinney TX
Next, we’re serving up trendy as heck. La Cour boasts a large brick courtyard nestled into beautiful wooded acreage – talk about photo opportunities everywhere. The romance oozes out of this wedding venue, with fairy lights strung up everywhere inspired by the historic streets of New Orleans! La Cour can accommodate up to 130 guests seated, or 150 if you’re planning a cocktail style reception. With options indoors, as well as outdoors, this year-round venue won’t disappoint. All you need is a vision, and the staff at La Cour will help you achieve it!
4. Prospect House, Dripping Springs TX
First of all, modern brides, look no further. The Prospect House is the spot for you if you’re inspired by white walls and airy spaces. Prospect House was designed by award-winning Texas architect Max Levy, who is known for creating simple yet dramatic modern spaces connected to nature through light, shadow, and afternoon breezes. The interior of Prospect House is a blank canvas for you to dress up any way you please. With establishments surrounding the venue including Solaro Estate Winery, Treaty Oak Distillery, Jester King Brewery, Stanley’s Farmhouse Pizza, Last Stand Brewing Company, Argus Cidery – to name a few – your vendor list has some serious potential!
With so many beautiful wedding venues in the area, we know it’s hard to decide. We hope this list made your choice a little easier! Is your chosen venue not on this list?
